East Side Access Overview
- The East Side Access territory is a tunnel system starting in Harold Interlocking and the new Mid-Day Storage Yard in Queens, runnning through the existing 63rd Street Tunnel under the East River into Manhattan and ending in the new Madison Concourse under Grand Central Terminal.
East Side Access Track Chart
- The track chart above displays the East Side Access track alignment.
- On the east side, Tracks A, BC, and D access the tunnel through Harold Interlocking. Track LL accesses the tunnel through the Mid-Day Storage Yard.
- The 63rd Street Tunnel has two levels. The upper level has been in use by the New York Subway system for many years. The lower level is now part of the East Side Access alignment and will be used by LIRR trains going into and coming out of Manhattan.
- On the west side, there are two levels in the new terminal. The upper level is directly over the lower level.
